James M. O’Brien is an Executive Vice President for Wilson Hotel Management Company, Inc.

Jim began his career with the company in 1986. He oversees the development and operations of all hotels under the umbrella of the hotel group. Jim’s expertise lies in the areas of asset/liability management; sales and marketing strategies; owner reporting; accounting procedures design and implementation; cash management; hotel operations and labor controls; market planning; pre-opening, new acquisition, and conversion construction; and RFP design and preparation, specifically for the Memphis Grizzlies House and the FedEx Family House, including the development and management of these two facilities. Jim is also a State of Tennessee Affiliate Real Estate Broker.

Jim is a member of many corporate and civic organizations. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Hospitality Management degree program at the University of Mississippi; on the Advisory Board for L'École Culinaire School in Cordova, Tennessee; and on the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Domiciliary Care Committee. Jim formerly served on the Holiday Inn Committee for the International Association of Holiday Inns; the Holiday Inn Express Committee; and the Southern Regional Committee.

Jim has been recognized by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for his volunteer work at the Memphis Grizzlies House and is an avid supporter of Give Kids the World, a non-profit organization in Kissimmee, Florida granting wishes to terminally-ill children and their families.
